All proceeds for this event go towards the purchase of a OEC Elite CFD Premium Mobile C-Arm! The Kona Hospital Foundation will be matching all donations made during this event.
What is a OEC Elite CFD Premium Mobile C-Arm?
A C-Arm (x-ray) machine is a mobile piece of equipment that is critical to performing a variety of surgical procedures. For example, when a Total Hip Replacement is performed, a C-Arm is used during surgery to ensure the replacement joint is level and the implants are seated properly. The OEC Elite CFD Premium Mobile C-arm has the ability to see an entire pelvis to ensure that the implants are level with the opposing hip.
Other Orthopedic surgeries such as shoulder, long bone pinning, internal fixations of the ankle, wrist, etc. In addition, patients that come to Kona Community Hospital’s OR for urology procedures, port placements, pacemaker procedures, vascular cases and some general surgery will benefit from the new OEC Elite CFD Premium Mobile C-Arm. OEC Elite CFD Premium Mobile C-Arm also has a vascular package which will allow for moving pictures that can watch contrast move through the vessels.
The C-Arm is also immensely helpful with patients who are in severe pain and can’t position themselves. The OEC Elite CFD has the ability to capture exquisite pictures from any position, even while the patient is sitting in a wheelchair.
