Women’s rights are under attack across the globe. We will NOT be silent until all women are safe, empowered, and free. Join your sisters of Hilo, HI to make your voice heard. Together, we will let the women of Hawaii know that though the Handmaid’s Tale is becoming our reality, that we will not go down without a fight. We stand in peaceful protest to give our sisters hope, to say we weren’t silent, to know we did something.
We protest not just for our American sisters – but for our sisters around the globe. Women’s rights shouldn’t change based on arbitrary state & country borders. We protest for UNIVERSAL rights for women. The right to bodily autonomy, to education & work, to wear whatever they wish. We protest against Female Genital Mutilation, against child marriage, against punishment for miscarriages & abortions, against being blamed for the abuses of men against them, and much more. We fight for women to be treated as sovereign humans, with respect and dignity.
Both women and men are invited to attend. Make a sign, bring some water, and don’t forget to sunblock!
Location: Hilo Bayfront Beach Park - Starting on the corner of Kamehameha Ave. & Pauahi St. and extending outwards.
We will be holding a protest every month - either on a Wednesday or Saturday.
