Everyone is invited to “BE OUR GUEST” for an East Hawaii Cultural Center/HEART Disney Tribute in Lincoln Park. On Saturday, May 20th at noon and at 3:00 (two separate concerts) the East Hawaii Cultural Center and the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) will join together to present its third free outdoor concert entitled, “THE MUSIC OF DISNEY: Your Favorite Disney Songs from Stage and Screen” will be held in Lincoln Park off of Kinoole Street. These one-hour concerts, which are part of the newly formed East Hawaii Cultural Center’s Arts Out-of-Doors Program, will feature some of Hilo’s brightest singing stars from some of HEART’S most recent hit productions such as: THE PROM, THE LION KING, JR, CABARET, AVENUE Q and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Featured singers will be Kyra Gomes, Aleah Kaye, Sam Deitch, Melissa Mitchell-Moore, Marlise Ahuna, Zeisha Cobile, Jason Aiwohi- Tomlin, Zayne Paresa, Agata Highstein, Ricky Alvarez, Tom Mirenda, and Yisa Var.

The plan is to continue presenting free concerts over the next few months that will vary in theme and genre. Past shows featured Broadway Showstoppers and music of The Beatles. Our June concert will feature a live band and celebrate the Disco era.

So gather your family, your friends, a date, a blanket and a picnic basket and sit in the park and listen to some beautiful voices singing some of your favorite Disney songs including “Part Of Your World” from The Little Mermaid, “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins, “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella, and many more favorites.

The concerts are made possible by funding from the County Nonprofit Grants-in-Aid (Waiwai) program. The concert will be a family-friendly, alcohol-free event.
