The Kohala Hongwanji Mission Buddhist temple will be holding our annual Obon services and Bon Dance on Saturday, July 4. Our Obon festival honors our ancestors as we remember all that we owe them. The public is welcome to all Obon events. Bon Dance practices are on June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 5:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 4, the graveyard service is at 4:00 p.m. at the Keokea cemetery. The Hatsubon service is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Kohala Hongwanji Mission, with the Bon Dance to follow. Concession will be open during the bon dance.
