The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is notifying residents, businesses and property owners near the Waimea Transfer Station that blasting activities will resume in the area next month.

Blasting will be conducted as needed from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays from July 8 to July 31.

This is a continuation of blasting activities that took place in April to excavate rock for the construction of Phase 2A of the department’s Lalamilo subdivision.

Warning signals will be sounded five minutes before a blast, and again one minute before each detonation.

After each blast, an all-clear signal will be sounded.

For information about the excavation, contact Blasting Technology at 808-874-5554 or DHHL Project Manager Jeffrey Fujimoto at 808-620-9274 or Jeffrey.Y.Fujimoto@hawaii.gov.
