Utility poles to be replaced overnight in North Kona

Sections of Palani Road in North Kona will be closed on Wednesday evening to allow for utility pole replacements.

Hawaiian Electric crews will be replacing the poles overnight. Sections of Palani Road will be closed from 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday to 6 a.m. on Thursday.

The road between Uluaoa Street and Pamahoa Place will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The road near the Hao Kuni Street intersection will be closed from 1:30 to 6 a.m. One lane will be open starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday.

Motorists are advised to use Māmalahoa Highway or Queen Ka‘ahumanu Highway as alternate routes and drive with caution when approaching the work zone. Flagmen will provide traffic control.
