Wine, beer, food, flowers, more at Hilo Orchid Show Gala Preview Party ‘fun’-raiser

The public is cordially invited to this year’s Hilo Orchid Show Gala Preview Party.

This “fun”-raiser is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. July 23 at Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium in Hilo. It previews the annual Hilo Orchid Society Show and Sale, while raising funds for peace and agriculture.

“We look forward to seeing you … for wine, beer, food, flowers and fun!” said Ku‘ikahi Executive Director Julie Mitchell in an announcement for this year’s preview party.

All ticket proceeds from the party benefit nonprofit Ku’ikahi Mediation Center and its cause of “Finding Solutions, Growing Peace.” All silent auction proceeds benefit Hilo Orchid Society’s agriculture student scholarship fund.

Tickets are $115 — of which $40 is tax deductible — and are available now for purchase in advance at The Most Irresistible Shop and Ku‘ikahi Mediation Center, both in downtown Hilo.

Reserved tables for 4, 6, 8 or 10 people are available at bronze, silver, gold and platinum sponsorship levels.

Tickets purchased online can be picked up at will call the night of the preview party, unless prior arrangements are made to pick them up before.

The evening gala features hard and soft beverages, catered food, live music and more.

“Drink, eat, socialize and get a sneak preview of the lush displays and the first chance to shop for beautiful, unique and rare orchid[s],” Mitchell said.

Each partygoer receives a souvenir wine or beer glass to enjoy the libations and take home after the event.

A wide variety of fine wines, beers on tap from Kona Brewing and hard beverages from Ola Brew and Kvasir’s Mead will be available, along with kombucha from The Booch Bar and Big Island Booch, gourmet fruit juice iced tea and water.

Pupu, dinner and dessert buffets are compliments of AJ & Sons Catering and friends. Vegetarian and vegan options also will be available.

“We hope the community will come out to enjoy a great party while supporting a good cause at this ‘fun’-raiser,” Mitchell added. “Let’s create a world where people know how to navigate conflict, build bridges and seek resolution. Your support changes lives.”

The 2026 Hilo Orchid Society Show and Sale will also be hosted at Edith Kanaka‘ole Multi-Purpose Stadium and scheduled for:

• 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 24.
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 25.
• 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 26.
