Due to severe weather, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation advises travelers to arrive at the airport early for transpacific and interisland flights.

According to the National Weather Service in Honolulu, a powerful, yet slow-moving kona low storm has arrived in the Hawaiian Islands, with rain arriving on Kaua‘i on Tuesday.

Currently, Hawai‘i Island is under a flood watch and the summits are under a winter storm watch.

Those traveling on transpacific flights are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure time and for interisland flights, 90 minutes before departure time.
