UPDATE: Saddle Road reopens after vehicle crash in East Hawai‘i

Update at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 3: The Hawaiʻi Police Department reports that Daniel K. Inouye Highway, or Saddle Road, is now open to all traffic.
Original post at 12 p.m. Tuesday, March 3: A portion of Daniel K. Inouye Highway, also known as Saddle Road, is closed in both directions due to a vehicle crash.
The crash occurred near mile marker 29. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
