New mulch loading fees announced for commercial customers of Kealakehe, East Hawaiʻi facilities

Hawaiʻi County Department of Environmental Management vendor Hawaiian Earth Recycling will change mulch loading fees March 1 for commercial customers at Kealakehe Recycling and Transfer Station and East Hawaiʻi Organics Facility.

Commercial customers of the Kealakehe facility will be charged $5 per cubic yard, while commercial customers of the East Hawaiʻi facility will be charged $20 per cubic yard.

There is no limit, while supplies last.

Manual self-loading for commercial customers is allowed and not subject to the loading fee, which is only payable by Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards.

No cash or checks are accepted.

There is no change for residential users, who are limited to 3 cubic yards per day.
