Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library in Waimea is once again celebrating Engineers Week from Feb. 22-28 with its NASA@My Library event Engineering Bash.

The party is slated for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 28. It is free and open to the public.

Meet some of the island’s most talented students, professional engineers and community experts to discover the amazing world of engineering.

Bring all your engineering questions. Enjoy mind-bending and inspiring indoor/outdoor activities, demonstrations and displays, including:

  • Drones.
  • Hovercraft.
  • 3D printing.
  • Circuits.
  • Infrared imaging.
  • Magnetic slime.
  • Mini robot building.
  • Rockets.

There also will be face painting and balloon sculptures.

“Engineers Week is a great time to celebrate how engineers make a difference in our community, and in our world,” said Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library Branch Manager Ashley Spencer in announcing the upcoming event. “We are grateful to all of our community partners and friends for helping us spotlight the innovative contributions of engineers to our lives.”

The NASA@My Library initiative engages public audiences nationwide in informal and lifelong learning with the excitement of NASA exploration and discovery.
