Two men who reportedly took camera from Kailua-Kona home become stars of video surveillance footage

Two men who allegedly ran off with one camera from a West Hawai‘i home a little more than 2 months ago after breaking in through a window might not have known they were being watched and filmed by another.

Hawai‘i Island police are asking the public for help with identifying the two men who star in footage from a July burglary in a Kailua-Kona neighborhood.

Police say that at 9 p.m. July 30 the suspects reportedly entered a residence in the upper Nani Kailua Drive area through side jalousie windows and removed a digital camera.

The incident was captured by the home’s watchful video surveillance camera.
