North Kohala water customers from Hāwī to Hala‘ula are now under an essential needs only notice for water use — and will be for at least the foreseeable future — as only one well remains operational in the area and high water usage has caused customers to have no water or low water pressure.

Essential needs include drinking, cooking and hygiene purposes.
