Big Island weekly lane closures: Nov. 23-29
Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures starting today through Nov. 29.
In observance of Thanksgiving Weekend, there will be no daytime lane closures from Thursday through Dec. 1 unless otherwise permitted. Special Use lanes (contraflow and HOV) will not be operational on Thursday.
Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here.
— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 53 to 56, in the vicinity of Ninole Loop, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
CAPTAIN COOK
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 89 to 92, in the vicinity of Papalani Place, on Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 90 to 92, in the vicinity of Yee Hop Ranch Road, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety upgrades to the roadway.

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 114 to 116, in the vicinity of West Honalo Road and Walua Road, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
