Big Island weekly lane closures: Nov. 23-29

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures starting today through Nov. 29.

In observance of Thanksgiving Weekend, there will be no daytime lane closures from Thursday through Dec. 1 unless otherwise permitted. Special Use lanes (contraflow and HOV) will not be operational on Thursday.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here.

— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

PĀHALA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 53 to 56, in the vicinity of Ninole Loop, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 89 to 92, in the vicinity of Papalani Place, on Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

CAPTAIN COOK (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 90 to 92, in the vicinity of Yee Hop Ranch Road, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HŌNAUNAU

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety upgrades to the roadway.

KEAUHOU

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 114 to 116, in the vicinity of West Honalo Road and Walua Road, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

PEPE‘EKEO TO HONOMŪ (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 12 to 13, in the vicinity of Cane Road and Pua Lane on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

NINOLE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 18 to 21, in the vicinity of Kaihuki road on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

NINOLE TO LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 20 to 25, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA BYPASS ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

PĀHOA

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 4 to 6 on Nov. 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PĀHOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10 on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KEA‘AU-PĀHOA ROAD (ROUTE 139) —

PĀHOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road (Route 139) possible in either direction between mile post 1 to 1.18 in the vicinity of Kea‘au-Pāhoa Bypass Road on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 190) —

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 20 to 22, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

KALAOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 35 in the vicinity of Old Government Road and Onaona Drive, on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

HAWĪ

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 17 to 19, in the vicinity of Mamo Street, on Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

— PU‘AINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) —

HILO

Single lane closure on Pu‘ainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway and doing shoulder work as part of the Puainako Street improvements Project.
