Suspects caught on camera coming to Waikōloa property booked with stolen financial information
Lodging on a trip or staycation is always more affordable when you have a little help from your friends. It’s even better when you don’t have to pay a dime.
Your stay can be more costly, however, if the party is on someone else’s tab and they didn’t know about or authorize it.
Big Island police are looking for several people involved in a theft investigation at a property in the 69-1000 block of Nāwāhine Place in Waikōloa from July 23-29.
An unidentified suspect used stolen financial information to book lodging accommodations July 1 at the Waikōloa property for 7 days, starting July 23 with a scheduled check out date of July 29.
Numerous parties accessed the dwelling during that time period and were captured on video surveillance.
Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Kona Patrol Officer Tammy Messina on the Hawai‘i Police Department non-emergency line at 808-935-3311 or by email at Tammy.Messina@hawaiicounty.gov.
