Big Island weekly lane closures: June 10-16

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced lane closures for the week of June 10-16. There will be no road work or contraflow on Highway 130 on June 12 in observance of King Kamehameha Day. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.

All projects are weather permitting.

— MĀMALOHA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

KEA‘AU (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 7 and 9 between Kea‘au Loop and Volcano Road on Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 116 and 118, between Walua Road and La‘aloa Avenue on Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘IKOU

Single lane closure possible in either direction at Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) and Old Māmalahoa Highway on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of a raised crosswalk

PAPA‘IKOU

Shoulder closure in both directions at Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) and Alakahi Place on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of a temperature sensor.

NINOLE (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 20, in the vicinity of Hanamalo Lane on Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 20 and 22, on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘ALOA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 20 and 22, on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAPA‘ALOA TO O‘OKALA

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 23 and 28, between Kapehu Road and Stevens Road, on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for road resurfacing.

HONOKA‘A

Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction at Kalopa Road on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. HECO will be replacing substandard utility poles and restringing overhead lines.

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 64 and 68, between Leihulu Street and Waiula Drive on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route250) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 11, in the vicinity of Pu‘uhue Road on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstruction of a weakened shoulder.

Single lane closure on Kea‘au-Pāhoa Bypass Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 1 and 2, between Uhiuhi Street and Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road, on Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for clearing and cleaning of guardrails.

— PĀHOA-KALAPANA ROAD (ROUTE 130) —

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 11, between Niaulani Street and Pāhoa Bypass Road, on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for guardrail vegetation removal.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile marker 11, at the intersection of Pāhoa Bypass Road and Post Office Road, on Tuesday, June 13, through Friday, June 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for installation of a raised crosswalk.
