Soldiers from 25th Infantry Division volunteer at Pu’ukoholā Heiau National Historic Site
More than a dozen soldiers from the 25th Infantry Division, 3rd Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment recently volunteered to clean up the beach at National Historic Site Pu’ukoholā Heiau on the Big Island.
Park Ranger George Enuton gave a history presentation before the cleanup — which is in preparation for an upcoming public festival in August.
“As partners of conservation, 3-7 FA is committed to serving both our country and local community,” Capt. Timothy Zimmerman said. “Participating in service projects provides us the unique opportunity to strengthen our community relations and showcase our dedication to service. We will stay committed to our duty and Mālama ‘Āina.”
The soldiers are based at Schofield Barracks, Oʻahu, and are training at U.S. Army Garrison Pōhakuloā Training Area for the next few weeks.
