Military convoys to Pōhakuloa Training Area scheduled later this month for routine training in May
Military convoys are expected to travel from Kawaihae Dock to Pōhakuloa Training Area on April 29 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to prepare for routine training in May.
Convoys with more than five vehicles will not move during peak traffic times. Motorists are advised to use caution and not weave in-out of convoys for safety, as well as the troops. May convoy dates will be announced before the end of the month.
While sometimes loud, U.S. Army officials say this training is critical to ensure military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely.
Archery mammal hunting is also scheduled for this weekend on the base at Humu’ula. Hunting is open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hunters are allowed up to two kills of either ewe or goat — of either sex — per day. Click here for more information and registration.
