BIIF Boys Volleyball Playoffs Begin Tuesday
A league championship and five total state berths will be on the line at the Big Island Interscholastic Federation’s Boys Volleyball Tournament, beginning Tuesday around the island and ending with championship night at Konawaena’s Onizuka Gymnasium on Saturday.
In Division I, the favorite appears to be the Warriors from Kamehameha-Hawaii. The Warriors were ranked in a second-place tie in the last Star-Advertiser Top 10 poll this week. Meanwhile, Waiakea is also in the statewide rankings, entering in at number 10 this week. Both teams will be in action when Division I semi-final play begins on Friday.
Meanwhile, in Division II, the Kohala Cowboys are in a tie for the eighth spot in the rankings, and will open play on Wednesday. The Division II postseason includes ten teams vying for three spots in the state tournament on Oahu.
