Applicants Sought For Board of Bar Examiners

The state Judiciary is seeking applicants to serve on the Board of Bar Examiners.

The Hawai’i Supreme Court nominating committee is now accepting applications from attorneys interested in a board position. Attorneys from all islands are invited to apply.

Appointed board members will serve three-year terms beginning Nov. 1. The deadline to submit applications is Aug. 31.

Applicants should submit a letter of interest and a resume by mail to Liam Deeley, chairperson; Hawai’i Supreme Court nominating committee; 212 Merchant St.; Suite 200; Honolulu, HI 96813; or via email to director@hawaiiaap.com.

The nominating committee will provide recommendations to the Supreme Court, which makes the final selections.

The board of examiners administers the process of admission to the Hawai’i State Bar. It examines each applicant’s qualifications, knowledge of legal ethics, moral character and administers a written examination. Board members receive no compensation but can be reimbursed for travel and other expenses related to the performance of their duties.
