Keauhou Shopping Center to Host Back-to-School Drive, Bash

Keauhou Shopping Center is providing the community with different ways to celebrate the fresh start of a new school year. Several upcoming events at the shopping center will allow guests to savor the last moments of summer and prepare for the 2022-23 school year in style.

“Keauhou Shopping Center is thrilled to help kids, families and educators in the Kailua-Kona community prepare for this coming school year,” Colene DeMello, Keauhou Shopping Center general manager, said in a press release. “We are excited to work with our tenants to offer ways to celebrate the start of a new year in the classroom.”

Keauhou Shopping Center is partnering with Get Ready Hawai‘i to host a Back-To-School Supply Drive from July 1-30. Guests are encouraged to drop off a variety of school supply items at participating businesses at the shopping center to benefit the schools in the community.

“When I was named executive director in July of 2017, the first corporate partner I established was Keauhou Shopping Center,” Jeff Gourley, executive director of Get Ready Hawai‘i, said in the press release. “The center has been invaluable in supporting our programs and the children we serve, and we are thrilled to continue to partner with Keauhou Shopping Center as we all work to serve the children of West Hawai‘i.”

Children will also have the opportunity to celebrate going back to school through the KidX Club Back to School Bash from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. July 30.

The event will feature keiki crafts, yard games, a photo booth, balloon twisting, giveaways and more. Eventbrite registration goes live July 16; registration is required to attend. Get Ready Hawai‘i will be on property and can assist families who need supplies for the upcoming school year.

From end of summer celebrations to school year preparations and everything in between, Keauhou Shopping Center’s back-to-school events are sure to offer a unique and memorable experience for every guest.
