Recruiters with the U.S. Army Recruiting Station, Kona, will be on hand this Friday, July 1, during Food Truck Fridays at Tony Honda Kona to speak with anyone interested in a military career.

The U.S. Army recently raised its enlistment bonus to $50,000 for qualified individuals who sign for a six-year active duty assignment. For select occupations that need to be immediately filled or are difficult to fill because of specific qualifications, career-based incentives from $1,000 up to $40,000 also are being offered.

There also are “quick ship” bonuses for those prepared to head to basic combat training within 45-90 days. These incentives range from $2,000-$25,000. As part of the Army Civilian Acquired Skills Program, foreign language skills can be worth up to $40,000 for certain career paths.

Recruiters will be available from 4-8 p.m. Friday to highlight the many career opportunities the U.S. Army provides and answer any questions. Tony Honda Kona is located at 75-5608 Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona and features a wide selection of food trucks, vendors, activities and live music.
