The state Department of Transportation released its road and lane closures for the week of April 23-29. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
— MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —
1) MOUNTAIN VIEW
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 22 and 23, Old Volcano Road and Ali‘i Kane Street, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.
2) CAPTAIN COOK
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 85 and 86, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
3) KONA
Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile markers 107 and 109, Rabbit Hill Road and Māmalahoa Highway, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for mulching and grass cutting.
— HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —
1) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction near mile marker 13.8, near Kolekole Beach Park, on Saturday, April 23 through Friday, April 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for bridge repair work.
2) HONOMŪ (24/7 RESTRICTION)
Kolekole Bridge at mile marker 14.27 on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) is weight restricted to 12 tons (24,000 lbs.) until further notice. The speed limit in the area is reduced to 25 mph. See https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/weight-limit-for-kolekole-bridge-now-12-tons/ for details.
3) PAPA‘ALOA
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 23 and 25, Kapehu Road and Pu‘ualaea Homestead Road, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting.
4) PA‘AUILO
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 32 and 38, Ke Ehia Place and Kalopa Road, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for tree removal.
5) PA‘AUILO
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 35 and 40, Ke Ehia Place and Kalopa Lower Road, on Monday, April 25 through Wednesday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of monument markers.
6) HONOKA‘A
Single lane closure on Hawai‘i Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 45 and 47, Kapuna Road and Homestead Road, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile markers 69 and 75, Hapuna Beach Road and Waikōloa Beach Drive, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscaping and shoulder work.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Hawai‘i Belt Road and Kea‘au-Pāhoa Road, on Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of new traffic signal indicators.

Single lane closure on Pāhoa-Kalapana Road (Route 130) possible in either direction near mile marker 15.4, Alaili Road, on Friday, April 15, and Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pavement and guardrail improvements.

Single lane closure on Māmalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 6.9, Saddle Road and Cross Island Road, on Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for shoulder widening, installation of rumble strips and other safety improvements.
