Bail Maintained for Kona Man Facing Theft Charges
A Kona man is facing a myriad of theft offenses following an incident at Kekaha Kai State Park where a vehicle was broken into and several unauthorized credit card transactions were made at Queen’s Marketplace.
The reported crimes occurred on April 4. Twenty-seven-year-old Siekisiteni Fukofuka, Jr., is facing first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree identity theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, second-degree theft, two counts of third-degree theft and fourth-degree theft.
At the time of his arrest, Fukofuka was also wanted on an unrelated outstanding warrant and was pending several unrelated matters in family court.
On Wednesday, Fukofuka made his initial appearance in Kona District Court. The judge denied his request for supervised release, maintained his bail at $9,250, and ordered him to appear for a preliminary hearing today.
