Police Seek Public’s Assistance With Identifying Captain Cook Armed Robbery Suspect
Big Island police are asking the public for its help with identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery in West Hawai‘i.
At 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 23, Kona patrol officers responded to a gas station on Māmalahoa Highway in Captain Cook after an employee reported being robbed at gunpoint, according to a media release from police. The suspect demanded cash, removed the cash drawer and then fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and slender, wearing long pants and a dark-colored hoodie. His head and face were concealed.
The Area II Criminal Investigation Section is continuing the investigation, which is classified as a first-degree robbery.
