New Drive Through Testing Site Starting in Queens’ Marketplace
Nomi Health, the direct healthcare company coordinating COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts across the country, announced the launch of its third COVID testing site on the Big Island at Queens’ Marketplace in Waikōloa.
The drive-through testing site is located at 69-201 Waikoloa Beach Dr., open daily, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. with appointments scheduled every 10 minutes.
The company has conducted COVID testing in Hawai‘i since December 2020 when Nomi tested students, faculty, staff and Polynesian Cultural Center employees at BYU-Hawai‘i in Laie for eight months to keep the campus community safe. Since that time, Nomi has completed 315,000 tests and continues to operate sites at six locations on O‘ahu, one on Kaua‘i and three sites on Hawai‘i Island at Waiakea Center in Hilo, the Sure Foundation in Kea‘au and now Queens’ Marketplace in Waikōloa.
Westside Hawai‘i Island residents and visitors alike can now access no-cost, rapid and convenient COVID tests at a community hub simply by pre-registering online with their insurance information to receive a QR code for their appointment, the company stated in a news release on the new site.
“For patients with no medical insurance, Nomi will cover the cost through a federal fund so there’s never an out-of-pocket charge to the patient,” said Ailana Meyer, Nomi Health Field Operations Manager. “Results are sent within 72 hours to a patient’s cell phone and email address.”
Nomi’s Queens’ Marketplace testing site will be open through June as the company seeks new hires for community testing and VIP testing events. To preregister for a test, go to nomihealth.com/hawaii.
