DOH Reports 229 New COVID Cases Sunday

The state Department of Health reported 229 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the statewide total to 236,009.

Just 94 people were hospitalized Sunday throughout the state for COVID, according to the DOH; however, four new fatalities were reported.

A total of 33 new infections were identified Sunday on the Big Island, with Hawai’i County Civil Defense reporting that the DOH said there 660 active cases and 15 people hospitalized.

  • O‘ahu: 163,668
  • Hawaiʻi: 25,793
  • Maui: 27,900
  • Kaua‘i: 11,398
  • Moloka‘i: 934
  • Lana‘i: 624
  • Pending: 0
  • Out-of-State: 5,692

A total of 8,267 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,334 have died.
