Police Renew Request for Information About Kohala Man Who Disappeared in 2014

Big Island police are again asking for the public’s help with any information about a Kohala man who disappeared eight years ago.

According to a Hawaiʻi Police Department press release, police are renewing their request for information about Jonathan Riveira, who was last seen Jan. 12, 2014, at a Hāwī home. Riveira was 38 years old at the time he went missing.

He is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown eyes and short black hair.

Police ask anyone with information about his whereabouts to call the department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311 or contact Detective Carrie Akina at 808-326-4646, ext. 277, or via email at carrie.akina@hawaiicounty.gov.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
