More than 1,000 passengers at Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport had to be rescreened Wednesday night after a man scaled the wall into a sterile area.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:18 p.m. when the suspect was spotted on security cameras climbing the wall into an area where only screened passengers by TSA employees were allowed to be. Hawaii police were notified, but authorities say the man eluding capture.
At 7:30 p.m., all passengers in the gates were escorted back out and and re-screened by TSA, which started shortly after 9 p.m. Four flights were delayed for anywhere from one to two hours and affected 1,080 passengers.

No one was hurt in the incident. The suspect remains at large.
