Visiting hours at Hilo Medical Center have returned to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. as the hospital continues to see a decline in COVID hospitalizations and wait times in the emergency department.

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, HMC officials reported a total of 19 COVID patients being treated at the hospital, with zero in the ICU. Ten were unvaccinated, nine vaccinated and none were boosted. The hospital continues to be very full with COVID and non-COVID patients. Ten patients are in the 24-bed overflow unit.
