74 New COVID Cases Reported on Hawaiʻi Island

The state Department of Health reported 1,177 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 221,533. Ten new fatalities were reported.

A total of 74 new infections were identified Wednesday on the Big Island. The Hawai’i County Civil Defense reported 4,017 active cases, and 29 persons hospitalized.

Today, Wednesday, testing is scheduled in Kona at Yano Hall from 7-8 a.m., Old Kona Airport Pavilion from noon to 7 p.m., and at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium also from noon to 7 p.m.

A total of 7,667 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,191 have died.
