Temporary Closures Scheduled at Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park Next Week

Helicopter operations are scheduled next week and will close areas at the Kaloko-Honokōhau National Historical Park for the removal of invasive and non-native vegetation.

The first closure is slated for Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Kaloko Fishpond. Temporary closures include Kaloko Road, Kaloko Parking Lot and Kaloko Picnic Area.

The second closure is set for Thursday, Jan. 27, at Ai’makapa Fishpond. The closures include Hale Ho’okipa Visitor Contact Station and parking lot and the main trail from Hale Ho’okipa to the Honokōhau shoreline.

All closures are scheduled from 6-11 a.m. The closure is to provide for public safety during the removal of as the park will be using helicopter operations.
