8 Inmates Test Positive at Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities, released Friday, Jan. 7, are as follows:

O‘ahu Community Correctional Center – 198 inmate results; 24 positive, 174 negative. Four positive staff test results.

Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center – 76 inmate test results; Eight positive.

Halawa Correctional Facility – 122 inmate test results; Seven positive, 115 negative. One employee has recovered.

Kaua‘i Community Correctional Center – Two positive staff test results. Six negative inmate test results.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Two negative inmate test results. 43 negative staff test results. One employee has recovered.

Kulani Correctional Facility – 37 negative staff test results.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Sheriff Division – Three positive staff test results. Seven Sheriff Division employees have recovered and returned to duty.
