Hilo Woman Faces Felony Meth Charges Stemming From Truck Theft

Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced Monday, Dec. 13 that a Hilo woman, 26-year-old Bosilka Nash was charged in relation to a Dec. 8 theft of a Nissan truck from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo campus, hindering prosecution, and felony methamphetamine charges.

Nash was charged with first-degree hindering prosecution in the (rendering assistance to another person to hinder the apprehension, prosecution, conviction, or punishment of another person for a felony offense), second-degree accomplice to theft (theft of property valued greater than $750, a Nissan truck), second-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle (enter a motor vehicle without being invited, licensed, or authorized), second-degree promoting a dangerous drug (possession of one eighth of an ounce or more or methamphetamine), third-degree promoting a dangerous drug (possession of any amount of methamphetamine), and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.

Nash remains in custody in lieu of $25,000 bail pending her initial appearance today in Hilo District Court.

The investigation was handled by Officer Preston Paglinawan, South Hilo Patrol, Officer Christopher Fukumoto, Community Policing, and Officer Michael Sailer and Detectives John Balberde and Keith Simeona, Special Enforcement Unit, Area I Criminal Investigation Section, Hawai‘i Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Kevin Soong.

The charges are merely allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
