2 New COVID Cases Reported on Big Island
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 79 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 87,664. No new COVID-related fatalities were reported.
A total of two new infections were identified on the Big Island Tuesday. On Monday, Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 221 active cases, and four persons hospitalized.
The state’s seven-day average is now 85 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.4%. A map documenting new cases by district throughout all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

Out-of-State: 2,904
A total of 5,029 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 1,018 have died.
