28 New COVID-19 Cases Reported on Big Island
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 142 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 85,360. Six new COVID-related fatalities were reported.
A total of 28 new infections were identified on the Big Island Wednesday. Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 329 active cases and 12 persons hospitalized.
The state’s seven-day average is now 99 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.8%.

Out-of-State: 2,778
A total of 4,848 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 968 have died.
