Big Island’s only zoo will close for maintenance work later this month, but the closure will be short-lived.

The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation announced on Monday that Panaʻewa Rainforest Zoo and Gardens will be closed on Nov. 18, 2021, for general maintenance. However, the plan is for the facility to reopen on the following day.

For more information on days and hours of operation, contact the Panaʻewa zoo at (808) 959-7224.
