Queen’s North Hawaiʻi Community Hospital (QNHCH) will offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 5-11, starting Nov. 8.

Vaccinations will be offered to keiki in that age group on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 1-6 p.m. at the QNHCH Vaccination Clinic, with no appointment necessary. This timeframe is reserved for children ages 5-11 only.

Hospital officials say there is no weight minimum and proof of age is not required. A parent or guardian must accompany the child and remain with the child throughout the vaccination and observation process.

Additionally, QNHCH will end its drive-up COVID testing on Nov. 8. The decision to stop the drive-up testing was made as volume was down and numerous testing options are now available within the community.

Testing will continue to be offered to emergency room patients as needed. For more information, see www.nhch.com.

QNHCH continues to offer the Pfizer vaccination to those 12 and older. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The QNHCH Vaccination Clinic is open to all ages 12 and up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 7 a.m. to noon with no appointment necessary. No children ages 5-11 years are allowed during this timeframe.

QNHCH offers the Pfizer booster shot to those people who are six months beyond their final Pfizer or Modena vaccination, or two months beyond their J&J vaccination, and are immunocompromised, age 65+, long-term care residents, age 18-64 with specific underlying conditions, or adults at high risk of disease from occupational exposures such as health care workers and teachers.
