Military Convoy to Run Daily on Big Island Over 6 Days

Military units based on Oʻahu continue to conduct training activities at Pōhakuloa Training Area (PTA), which will result in military convoys on Big Island roadways over the next several days.

Planned convoys from PTA to Kawaihae are as follows:

Oct. 16PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Oct. 17PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Oct. 18PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Oct. 19PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Oct. 20PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Oct. 21PTA to Kawaihae8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the local community,” the US Army wrote in a statement. “While the convoys can create delays among motorists due to the reduced speed, it is critical all our troops return home safely.”
