Big Island COVID Hospitalizations Drop to 25, as Testing/Vaccination Sites Continue
A total of 25 people remain hospitalized across the county due to COVID-19 infection, while 81 people on the Big Island have died since the pandemic began.
Hawai´i County reported 68 new cases Friday, with a total of 1,023 active cases island-wide.
The slow and gradual decline of new cases and hospitalizations has been aided by testing and vaccination clinics across the Big Island.
On Friday, Sept. 24, community tests are scheduled in Kona at the Kona Aquatics Center from 1 pm to 5 pm and in Puna at the Pāhoa District Park from 1 to 3 pm.
For Saturday the following vaccination and testing clinics are available:
- Hilo Lanes from 9 am to 4pm
- Kona International Market 9 am to 1pm
- Waimea District Park 9 am to 1 pm
- Testing only at the Hilo Civic 9 am to 1 pm
