68 New COVID Infections Reported on Big Island
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 403 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 77,369. Nine new COVID-related fatalities were also reported.
A total of 68 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. On Thursday, Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 1,090 active cases, with 27 persons hospitalized.
The state’s two-week average is now 393 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 4.8%.

A total of 4,187 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 747 have died.
To date, a total of 1,984,074 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide, with 67.2% of the population fully vaccinated and 75.6% who have received at least one dose.
