106 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed on Big Island
The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 836 new COVID-19 cases Saturday, bringing the statewide total to 71,156. Twelve new COVID-related deaths were reported.
A total of 106 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. On Friday, the Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 1,541 active cases, with 55 persons hospitalized.
The state’s two-week average is now 606 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

A total of 3,822 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 653 have died.
To date, a total of 1,914,345 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 64.9% of the population fully vaccinated at 73.1% who have received at least one shot.
