The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 747 new COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the statewide total to 70,320. Eight new COVID-related deaths were reported.
A total of 140 new infections were identified on the Big Island Friday. On Thursday, the Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 1,576 active cases, with 54 persons hospitalized.
The state’s two-week average is now 606 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.
A total of 3,805 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 641 have died.
To date, a total of 1,914,345 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 64.9% of the population fully vaccinated at 73.1% who have received at least one shot.
