95 New COVID-19 Cases Reported on Big Island

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 380 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 69,144. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.

A total of 95 new infections were identified on the Big Island Wednesday. On Tuesday, Sept. 7, Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense Agency reported 1,708 active cases, with 66 hospitalized.

The state’s two-week average is now 702 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 7.2%. A map documenting new cases by district across all islands can be accessed at the DOH website.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

Moloka‘i: 166
Lana‘i: 134

Out-of-State: 2,219

A total of 3,794 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 626 have died.

To date, a total of 1,908,298 doses of the vaccine have been administered statewide, with 64.7% of the population fully vaccinated at 72.9% who have received at least one shot.
