Hawai‘i Sees Fifth Straight Day of Triple-Digit Virus Totals
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 132 new cases of coronavirus statewide Monday, bringing the overall total to 39,386. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
A total of 22 new cases were identified on the Big Island Monday, with 191 active cases and eight individuals hospitalized, according to Hawai´i County Civil Defense.
Following five consecutive days of case counts in the triple-digits, the state’s two-week average is now 106 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 3.3%.

A total of 2,570 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 523 have died.
To date, a total of 1,729,885 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide. DOH reports that 59.3% of residents are fully vaccinated, while 65.7% have received at least one dose.
