COVID Cases at HCCC on the Decline

The COVID-19 outbreak at Hawai‘i Community Correctional Center appears to be under control with only three active inmate cases reported as of Wednesday, June 30.

HCCC did confirm a new positive employee case and one recovered employee. The number of active staff cases is one.

The Women’s Community Correctional Center also confirms that the one previously reported positive employee has recovered and was medically cleared to return to work Wednesday, June 30.

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The Kauai Community Correctional Center reports 10 negative inmate test results. The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID vaccination.
