Big Island Reports 12 New Infections Wednesday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 42 new cases of coronavirus statewide Wednesday, bringing the overall total to 37,429. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Twelve new cases were reported on the Big Island Wednesday, according to DOH statistics.
The state’s two-week average is 39 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.3%. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 26,912
Maui: 3,835
Hawai‘i: 3,155
Kaua‘i: 346
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 55
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,272
A total of 2,426 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 513 have died.
To date, a total of 1,657,224 doses of vaccine have been administered statewide.
