DOH Reports 44 New Cases of COVID Friday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 44 new cases of coronavirus Friday. The statewide total is now 36,076. No new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Five new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Friday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 47 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 0.9%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 26,302
Maui: 3,633
Hawai‘i: 2,811
Kaua‘i: 315
Lana‘i: 112
Moloka‘i: 55
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,184
A total of 2,323 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 498 have died.
To date, a total of 1,513,894 shots of vaccine have been administered statewide.
