Hawaii Over 100 COVID Cases Again Friday
The Hawai‘i Department of Health reported 118 new cases of coronavirus on Friday. The statewide total is now 32,349. Zero new COVID-related deaths were reported.
Five new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island Friday, per DOH statistics. The state’s two-week average is 83 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%.
Most of the 49 active cases on the Big Island are located in the Kailua-Kona and Hilo areas. A DOH map that tracks cases by district across all islands can be accessed on the department’s website.
The island-by-island case count is as follows:
O‘ahu: 24,832
Maui: 3,385
Hawai‘i: 2,692
Kaua‘i: 243
Lana‘i: 111
Moloka‘i: 37
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 1,049
A total of 2,133 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 483 have died.
To date, a total of 1,202,060 doses of COVID-19 vaccination have been administered statewide.
