Three District COVID-19 Testing Sites Open Across Big Island Wednesday

Three district COVID-19 tests are scheduled island-wide on Wednesday.

The first is located in Ka´ū at Kahuku Park in Ocean View from 9 am until noon. Another is set for South Kona at Konawaena High School from 2 pm to 5 pm. The third is scheduled in Hilo at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium from 3 pm until 6 pm.

The next scheduled test is Friday in Puna at the Pāhoa District Park from 9 am until noon.  

The State Department of Health on Wednesday reported one new coronavirus case on the Big Island. There are currently 79 active cases of the virus across the island, and two people remain hospitalized as a result of infection.

DOH also reported that vaccination slots continue to be available for everyone aged 18 years and older at vaccination PODs and local pharmacies. Visit the DOH website to register for an appointment.

If you have questions regarding vaccine availability for your age group, contact the DOH at 808-300-1120. You can also visit the Civil Defense website for a list of all clinics and pharmacies providing vaccinations.
